The Game is returning next season!!!!

The CW has announced its schedule for the 2008-09 season which includes THE GAME. Returning for its third season, THE GAME is a behind-the-scenes look at the lives of the wives and girlfriends of pro-football players.

I am too excited about this. This is the most realistic show I have seen in a long time. I can not wait to see what happens on the season premiere. If you never watched The Game go to CWTV and watch it online. This comedy tackles the way these women deal with egos, groupies and image consultants and shows how THE GAME is really played among the women behind the athletes.

The series stars Tia Mowry ("Sister, Sister") as Melanie Barnett, Coby Bell ("Third Watch") as Jason Pitts, Pooch Hall ("Miracle's Boys") as Derwin Davis, Hosea Chanchez ("For Your Love") as Malik Wright, Brittany Daniel ("White Chicks") as Kelly Pitts and Wendy Raquel Robinson ("The Steve Harvey Show") as Tasha Mack. THE GAME is a production of Happy Camper Productions and Grammnet Productions in association with CBS Paramount Network Television. Kelsey Grammer ("Frasier," "Girlfriends"), creator Mara Brock Akil ("Girlfriends," "Moesha," "The Jamie Foxx Show") and Steve Stark serve as executive producers. A childhood friend of the woman prosecutors say appears in an explicit video at the center of R. Kelly's child pornography trial testified Wednesday that she recognizes her friend as the one in the tape.

The R&B superstar is accused of videotaping himself having sex with a girl as young as 13. His attorneys have said Kelly is not on the tape. The alleged victim, who is now 23, also denies she's the person in the video.

Prosecutors showed the footage within hours of opening statements Tuesday and now they're working to prove their claim that Kelly and the alleged victim are indeed in the video.. On Wednesday, Simha Jamison, 24, said she and the alleged victim were best friends for about 10 years until their junior year in high school — and that she knows her friend's face quite well.

When prosecutors asked Jamison if she recognized the man in the tape, she leaned forward in the witness stand, peeked around the corner of the judge's bench and identified Kelly.

She testified she and her friend visited Kelly at his recording studio and at a Chicago basketball court dozens of times, starting when they were around the age of 12.

Her friend first introduced her to Kelly as "her godfather," Jamison said, adding that the singer frequently gave her friend cash gifts — "no less than $100 and no more than $500."

She said the two also visited the home where authorities say the sex tape was filmed. Jamison said she saw the tape in 2002 and again just before testifying.

Make your choice

Often you are called upon to make decisions both big and small. Sometimes it is not clear which choice will bring the most positive value to your life.

Give care and thoughtful consideration to your decisions. But don't obsess over those decisions so much that you fail to make them.

Though it can at times be impossible to know which choice is best for you, it is usually very easy to know what the worst choice is. Almost always, the worst choice is to avoid making a choice. Life offers many attractive choices. And yet you cannot choose all of them at once.

Make your choice, and then put your commitment behind it. Even if it doesn't work out as you expected, at the very least you will have gained valuable knowledge and experience for making the next choice.

Each choice leads to other choices, and with every choice you improve your ability to wisely choose. Be consistently decisive, and the choices you make will bring real value into your world.

Atlanta Jazz Fest

In an effort to infuse arts and culture through jazz throughout metropolitan Atlanta, the City of Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs (OCA) created its signature “31 Days of Jazz” series as a part of the Annual Atlanta Jazz Festival. Featuring partnerships with entertainment venues to celebrate Jazz in May, the goal is to bring jazz to diverse venues and raise the profile of the Atlanta Jazz Festival and its participating partners.

Charlotte is an alcoholic!

'Sex and the City' star Kristen Davis cannot even sip wine because she is an alcoholic. The actress, 43, admits she used love to drink wine but can no longer trust herself to stick to just one glass - so she prefers not to indulge at all.Davis told US tabloid the Globe she has been sober for 18 years and reveals therapy sessions helped her beat her habit.

"I am an alcoholic," she said. "I know people who have abused alcohol and now they can have one (drink) and they're fine and I respect that."I'd love to have a glass of wine, but what if I have another, then another? My life is too important for me to risk that."

I love to watch her character Charlotte on the many re runs of Sex in the City. It is not my place to judge anyone but this just goes to show no one is perfect. I applaud her for being public about it. Maybe she can help other people.

A Job Well Done

Even when all you can do is just a little bit, go ahead and do it, with all the care and commitment you can give to it. Even the smallest effort accomplishes much more than nothing.
Though it may take you a long time to finish, go ahead and get started. For if you delay, the work will take even longer.

Be willing to do the tedious and time-consuming jobs. For they are often what give substance and lasting value to the accomplishment.
A job well done is a job completed with enthusiasm, gratitude, focus and persistence. A job well done can add great value to your life and your world.

Putting forth effort toward a clear and meaningful goal brings a kind of satisfaction that cannot be reached in any other way. True fulfillment is yours when you've done the work to make it so.

A job well done brings your mind, body and spirit completely to life. And it provides the opportunity for another, even more fulfilling, job well done.

Go Syesha!

Well people 21 year old Syesha Mercado was voted off American Idol on 5/14 /2008. I typically don't watch AI but this young lady really caught my attention. She is extremely talented and humble. I wasn't that upset that she was voted off because I know she will still have a successful career. Look at Jennifer Hudson & Chris Daughtry. They did not win AI but have been extremely successful. Some people were saying that it was a race issue. Come on people, why is it everytime someone gets voted off that is black, you pull out the dang race card. Give me a break! Everything happens for a reason and I know this young lady will be more successful then the two finalist. Let keeps in mind she is gonna be on the Idols tour and will make a lot of money and the exposure she got on the show is so awesome. So don't feel sorry for Syesha. Just wanted to shot out another member of DarkSkin Sistas Unite. :-)

Who is Kenny Burns?

Well I have been living in Atlanta for 6 years now. I have been to many events and parties but I never had as much fun until I went to a Kenny Burns Party. I kept hearing this dude's name and didn't know who he was. When I say his name to other people outside of the industry they ask the same thing. Little did I know that Kenny Burns was 1/3 of the Rocafella franchise as well as a fashion designer & lifestyle specialist :-). Kenny is currently working on a reality tv show. I had the pleasure of going to a slamming party Kenny hosted at the Versace Mansion on South Beach. One word FIRE! The music was on point and most importantly the drinks where free. Word to the wise if you ever hear about a Kenny Burns event or have the privilege to attend one of his private events, GO!
Make sure to check out his myspace page. He is also featured in this month's edition of Atlanta Peach Magazine. I have included a couple of photos from the party at the Versace Mansion. Enjoy!

Wants and Needs

You do not get what you want, or even what you need. You get what you are.

When you want this or need that, you are supporting the reality that you do not have it. Instead of putting your energy into wanting or needing, put it into being.

By your thoughts and actions, with your words and feelings, you can choose how to be. Use that powerful choice to give energy, attention and the substance of your life to those things you value most.

Instead of working to convince the world that you need some particular thing, put your effort into expressing it through your own life. Give up the habit of wanting more, and put your energy into living exactly as you choose to live.

Through the miracle of your life in this moment right now, you already have access to all that is. Your challenge is not one of want or need, but of appreciating and making full use of all that is available to you.

Instead of pushing life's abundance away with your wants and needs, let that abundance freely flow through you. Always live according to the best you can envision, and know all the joyful treasures of life.
